Hawaiin islands, an American holiday destination is such a remote location travelling from Finland that one likely looks rather for a Mediterranean destination than for this remote group of islands. Considering international business meetings, Hawaiian islands are conveniently located between Japan and USA. This location and the fact that there were very few European people taking part into the meetings, led me to travel on business to Hawaii during summer of 2004.
Usually I plan my business trips so that I spend in the destination only the minimum time needed, this time the long travelling time and flight schedules provided me with more or less one full day to drive around with my rental car. The Kona island has many of the world's climate zones packed into one small island. That, and the volcanoes makes the place attractive for playing tourist.
