Cairo, Egypt is one of those places one is not likely to visit on a holiday trip. The city is huge, the traffic exceeds more or less 10 times what the roads initially were planned for, and you definitely need guide to get around. I was in the city for two-three days on business in Autumn 2004. The schedule, as usual, was quite tight, but as one of the days had a little bit longer lunch break scheduled, we decided with some colleagues to take taxi near the pyramids and have look!
We ended up travelling on horse back to a good place to take pictures - something neither I or my colleagues had planned for. If you look closely at the picture, you will realise that my colleague was not really dressed for horseback riding. We had to persuade him a bit, but in the end, our journey started towards the pyramids.
